"Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand, with an equal opportunity, for everyone to sing, dance and clap their hands."
       - “ Sir Duke”, Stevie Wonder

In this week's parsha Moshe performed his most breathtaking miracle when he split the sea. After completing this feat Moshe has the nation’s attention.

What does Moshe do at this point? He does not make a speech or teach some Halacha (rules).  He sings a song with everyone.

"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent."  - Victor Hugo

Cantors and communal singing  can bring people together in ways Rabbis cannot. Moses knew this experience of singing and dancing together was just as  important as any Dvar Torah.

When someone says a speech or writes an article it is possible to misunderstand it or disagree. When people come together and sing and dance, at a wedding or a Shabbos table this is the apex of harmony and unity.

"Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.", Ludwig Van Beethoven

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. (leaving this text in shows you who I am)
