Taste and see the Lord is Good 
This week's parsha highlights details of the procedures done in the Mishkan. Instructions are given to light the lamps and then burn the incense simultaneously.  

Rav Soloveitchik  states "the Burning of the incense and the lightning of the lamps are merged into one mitzvah. The lighting of the candles represents knowledge, clear understanding (connected to our sense of sight) . The incense represents the mysterious the emotional. The cloud of incense is intangible" (connected to the sense of smell) .Read More

Clothes make the man
This week's parshah details the clothing worn by the Kohanim (priests). This is the only mention of anyone's clothing in the Torah. One item of clothing is conspicuously absent, the shoes! The Kohanim did not wear shoes when conducting the service. Why did they not wear shoes?

Men make clothes, clothes don't  make the man.
This week’s Parsha details the clothing of the Kohen and the Kohen Gadol (priest and high priest). Very few descriptions of articles of clothing are found in the Chumash aside from here and Yosef’s famous coat. Aaron, Moshe’s brother, was the first Kohen Gadol. Only Aaron’s direct descendants could be Kohanim. The only way to become  a priest is to be born a priest on your father’s side.  Read More
