"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."- I am not sure which are the gift horses so I don't look any horse in the mouth.

In this week's parshah a group of individuals were unable to bring the Passover sacrifice during Passover. They wanted to bring the sacrifice so they asked Moses if they could have another opportunity to bring it.

Later on in Parshah, another group of Jews complained about the Manna. They desired the meat that they had enjoyed in Egypt and with selective memory  forgot about the torture they had endured, recalling only the meat they had eaten in the past. They were complaining about free food.

The group that asked about the second passover was granted their request and created a system for people in the same situation in the future to experience pesach. They did not bring up the reason why they couldn't bring the sacrifice. They were focusing on the future not dwelling in the past p

In order to be productive, positive and contribute to the world we must look to the future about what we could do to help future generations, not to look back on the past. Misplaced nostalgia for a time that never existed helps no one. In the words of Teddy Roosevelt " Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."

In 1948 both the Arabs and the Jews were offered a state. The Arabs rejected the offer and the Jews took the small land. The Arabs were living the past. The Jews created a new future.

Just to be safe, I don't even look camels or mules in the mouth in case they got the mesorah wrong for the type of animal in the expression

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. Leaving this generic type in tells you a lot about myself.
